Hi there! I’m a biomedical scientist turned science journalist based in Washington, DC.

Over the years I’ve held a range of titles, including science researcher, editor, and video host. In 2018, I completed my PhD in Biomedical Science at the University of California San Diego. Today I’m the executive producer & co-host of the science podcast Tiny Matters and the chemistry podcast Chain Reaction by ACS. I’m also freelance journalist and fact-checker. I’ve written for outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Geographic, Scientific American, New Scientist, and Nature.

In 2025, was a script writer and the science consultant for the Emmy-nominated PBS documentary The Cancer Pioneers. In 2024, I won an Eric and Wendy Schmidt Award for Excellence in Science Communications, given by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. I served as DC Science Writers Association president during the 2023-2024 term.
